Drinking and driving laws exist for a reason but a lot of places in Canada have terrible impairment laws...
in Ontario People 25 and under cant have 0.01 bac and drive and anyone over 25 can only have 0.05(same in Vancouver )

The average weight person will have around 0.02 bac after 1 drink aka a shot or a 341ml 5% beer if they drink it all at once if you sip it it might be less,
not to mention the crazy laws that dictate that you can be charged with a DUI if you sleep in your car and have access to the keys
or the fact that police officers in Ontario don't have to catch you at the heel to charge you for drunk driving they can breathalizer you on suspicion and if they can prove you drove there and you cant prove that you had the drinks after you got there you get a DUI!
